Today, there are many cases of children hawking while their mates are in school. The challenge is contradicting government information’s’, which indicates that education is free for primary school pupils. Another challenge is educating the parents and guardians in rural regions about the importance of education and the impact of having children roam the streets with all the vices that surround them.

Despite these challenges, there are individuals and organizations that have been trying to combat some of these limitations. Thereby giving hope and future to many children and reducing the rate of what would be society renegades.

Recent years have seen the rise of NGOs in Cameroon that focus on providing back to school support to children. Some NGOs focus on children having ‘A’ grades and provide encouragement to help them reach their goals. These organizations are doing a marvelous job in giving these kids the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The growing number of individuals and organizations that assist children in need have helped shape the framework at TU to strategize in our fight towards providing better opportunities for children and help eradicate children in streets during school hours.
